Written like the positive thinker you are, Betty! Thank you. My mother died 11 years ago in the summer, but I miss her most at Christmas time. We always decorated the tree together.
I loved my father too, but mom meant the world to me. Thank you for your encouraging comment. You’re right. She still lives in my heart. “It’s alright, sugar,” was something she said to me a lot. I can still hear her saying it today– especially when I’m worried about something silly.
The haiku sure captured my thoughts David. That picture was taken in front of the picture window where mom and dad used to stand and view the sunsets, watch the deer on the edge of the woods and the moon phases go through the treetops. I miss them especially at this time as well.
A full moon is beautiful, shining through the trees, but it looks like a lonely place. It’s interesting how your photo made me think of my mother, and that there’s a connection to your own parents as well. I wrote the haiku on the first day of winter, yet decided to wait to publish on my regular schedule. Your pictures always create an emotional response for me, Gary. God Bless.
