Fallen Leaves

A micro poem about autumn and acceptance.

In the howling wind

a familiar voice: “Save me!”

I hear, and cannot.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

tempted to lose all hope but did not. It was God who made the difference.

Thank you. Falling leaves aren’t conscious of what’s happening to them. But what if they were? This is what led to the poem. Like so many in the helping professions say, “You can’t save them all.” It’s a harrowing thought; one I’ve faced this week. I appreciate your feedback. God Bless!

Our leaves on the aspen are finally falling by the hundreds an hour in wind gusts. I have so many thoughts just watching them…”Save me” a good description of some of my thoughts.
I’m a week behind on reading blogs David, I’ve been gone.
Matt and I did talk about you over burgers…all good.

I saw Matt’s post and smiled. I bet you guys swapped some great stories. Our leaves are still green here. The first frost is usually around November 1st. Thanks for stopping by, Gary!
