Coach K is my head principal’s father. He was a star quarterback who became a coach and eventually a superintendent of a public school district. He passed away on November 4, some years ago.
Yesterday, the administration team and I were exchanging encouraging messages, after a particularly hard week, when I looked out the window and saw a butterfly on the honeysuckle. Daily low temperatures here have already dropped far below freezing, so, I took the butterfly’s presence to be both message and miracle. My principal then told me this was the anniversary of her dad’s death.
Thank you for asking for the back story. God Bless!
What a beautiful story. The coach sounds truly inspirational. What a wonderful legacy he leaves behind … And what a gift and encouragement to see the butterfly. Thanks for sharing this. Blessings on your week David!
Thank you, Betty. Yes it was! It’s amazing, even miraculous, to see a butterfly 🦋 after morning lows have already dropped well below freezing. Yesterday afternoon was fairly warm, and there it came! I ran outside to hopefully get a photo, but the butterfly was gone. Next thing I knew, he came back, and I snapped the photo!
