One almost winter
I heard the lonely trees say,
“Sweet snow is like spring.”
He who seeks good finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it.

I was walking through a wilderness area hunting when the fog rolled in. It was so thick it covered all sounds. The air was mystical until I came across the lone track of a wolf so big my outstretched fingers and palm fit easily in the track.. A lobo wolf much bigger than most deer. I took out the camera and recorded a slice of time that might be my last in this haunted forest.
Yes, the trees and I were longing for spring

It’s always great to hear the back story of your photo adventures, Gary! I’ve looked at this one many times, but could never find the words. Today, however, I felt a real “Robert Frost” vibe (did he even write Haiku?!) and penned this poem quite rapidly.

Makes me think of sugar maple-ing time. One year we attended a Sugar Maple event and enjoyed Maple sugar cotton candy.

Splendor in the fog
Softened by a dust of snow
Quiet can be seen.
