Sometimes, when it snows
I think about the brave rose
buried half alive.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

How they come back after winter is amazing. Right now I have 8 feet of snow piled up on my wife’s flower garden…I guess we will see how that goes

Oh this is a perfect fit to what I discovered in my flower bed yesterday. The last traces of snow had finally melted away and I noticed the brilliant green of daffodil leaves beginning to push through the soil. How this happens each February in ice and below freezing temps never ceases to amaze me.

It is amazing! We usually trim back our rose bushes in the fall, but we left this one for some reason. I was shocked to see it still had some green leaves.

Roses are my favorite flower. And my middle name. Even though we have just a tiny side yard, we have planted three rose bushes. So very beautiful year after year!

Yes they are quite beautiful. We have two rose bushes, and both of them are almost twenty years old! Thank you for reading and commenting!
