Sometimes when I see such contrasts as the sun had just hit the frosted treetops (which in turn begin to melt and fall off like it’s snowing), and the deep blue sky, I can only pray a quick prayer as I turn the camera upward…”Lord God, you know how to assault our senses in wonder…”
It lasts only a few minutes at zero degrees. Some mornings at sun rise it will look like it’s snowing with the heavy frost falling off the treetops as the sun warms the branches under the frost first.

A lovely sense of winter sky, David!

Thank you, Matthew. I often write haiku from Gary’s photos. He lives in Northern Minnesota, a latitude similar to Scotland.

I wondered how long this scene lasted, even in the extreme cold. 🥶 The old sun ☀️ warms things up quickly.

The blue skies of winter and the white frost declare the glory of God.
