Frigid temperatures and ice crystals in the air create rainbows on each side of the sun called sun dogs. An artistic snow scape on a lake from heavily packed snow. Drifts and frozen ripples and waves are a wonder to behold, if one does not mind frosty eyelashes and cold biting through the warmest parka.
