New England Morning

Lake George, NY – 06/05/26

quiet rippling lake

with tree-carpeted mountains

greeting the chilled air

Ode to a Toad

An ode to a toad

Who calls out from his abode

To his wife on the road

“Watch out, mama toad!”

There are things on the road that rumble and run.

Things that will squish you to dry in the sun

Let’s not forget our marital roles.

What would I do with 100 tadpoles?
