it is a challenge
just to sit out on the porch
pesky mosquitos!
rain drops off the eaves
as a hummingbird buzzes
drink to summer’s end
sunshine through windows
tableside conversation
uninterrupted
on the other side
of whatever one faces
perspective awaits
