the morning after
birds singing in the brisk breeze
thankful for the rain

Sitting center street
Stands the ancient, mighty oak

An ode to a toad
Who calls out from his abode
To his wife on the road
“Watch out, mama toad!”
There are things on the road that rumble and run.
Things that will squish you to dry in the sun
