on the logging trail
bare tree tops creak together
the moon and the snow

grey clouds drift apart
cold’s biting wind passes on
warmth on my shoulders

through sunny windows
the wind makes familiar songs
on the chimes of change

wispy chimney smoke
from a warm hearth and home
first day of winter

when the North wind blows
across the winter pasture
all cows congregate

noble frosted spruce
soaking up the winter sun
nothing but blue skies

pitter-patter rain
like clockwork ticking windows
counting down to snow.

holiday lights fade
as stark winter shadows grow
yet the gift remains
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 (NIV)
