The apples, amazed
by an early autumn snow
still “hanging in there”
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Those are some very large crab apples David. Just the right amount of tart but sweeten after the first frost. There is nothing like eating a frozen apple off the tree. It takes some very cold weather to really freeze them. I actually thought we had picked them all until the leaves fell of in the snow…so yes, hanging in there is the best line.

The best line of a haiku is often the last one—if the poet gets it right. It’s amazing this many apples 🍎 were able to hide amongst the leaves.

LOL…Let me amend that statement…The grandkids said they had all the apples picked off the tree. I just looked at it from a distance with full foliage. It made the deer happy later as they ferment before dropping off.

I never knew you had a poetry blog! So excited to find this site. 😃 (p.s. Sorry if I accidentally followed and unfollowed multiple times, my computer wasn’t showing it working).
