weary crescent moon

finds a welcome place to rest

waning is hard work

It’s a constant temptation, David, but the verse from 2 Corinthians still holds true. And speaking of truth, the photo and your haiku are beautiful. I wish now that I had said that first.

Great haiku David.
I love the play on words with waning. It’s also a reminder that my numbered days are in the wane. I was doing a night walk when I saw the odd moon framed in a gnarly oak….it’s a 30 second time exposure.

Thanks for sharing more details about the photo, Gary. A little research revealed your moon was a waning crescent. I said to myself, “That guy is tired.”🌙 On second thought, the sun ☀️ does all the work.
